Owl Prints are done!

Color layer for owl reduction print!

Here's the first layer for the owl reduction print I'm currently working on.

It's almost a rainbow roll; instead of doing it the normally blended way, I made up three colors and freely rolled them individually on the block in specific areas to achieve a more mixed and splotchy affect. I was hoping it would look a little autumnal. The detailed final layer with the outline and dark areas with be printed in a deep brownish-black. I will probably do some prints of just the detail layer as well, just for kicks!

Leftovers print exchange results are in!

It's about time for print exchange prints to roll in. So far, I've received prints from the Leftovers exchange, and they are fabulous.

The presentation was totally worth the entry. It came neatly put together with a super cute napkin and receipt.

Here's my large (18" x 24") woodcut I'm working on! It's the starting place for my steampunk narrative series I'm doing for my Senior Thesis.

Not much is cut on it right now other than the borders, but I can't wait to see how this baby prints!

New Owl Linocut

I'm currently working on a 5" x 7" owl linocut. I've been planning on doing a relief print of an owl for ages, but it's been constantly put off for other projects and priorities. Since I'm running short on my project quota for class, it seems like the perfect time to complete it!

Exchange Update

Here's the zombie apocalypse print I submitted to the exchanges, as well as a Dia de los Muertos inspired piece I reprinted and have yet to post. : D

New Coptic Journal Covers

So I was at the library book sale and they had some old hardcover books they were getting rid of on the cheap, so I am upcycling the bookboard and covers to make some fancy schmancy coptic journals to sell online.

I've already gutted the books, so now I just need to get these guys rebound with blank pages. Hopefully the final project will look something like this:
